My heartfelt sympathy goes to Karen's entire family. After hearing the sad news, so many coworkers from WNIS shared a story or 2 about a kindness Karen had shown them when they needed it. Her tough exterior never fooled any of us. I loved sharing a good laugh with her and appreciated her support in tough
times. May she rest in peace.

Karen was my best friend and confidant......she was my right hand person during my tenure in the Wallenpaupack Area School District...we shared the trials and tribuations of famiies , co-workers, friends, raising our kids, etc. I have missed her lately since I couldn't contact her and I will continue to iss her even more now. At least now, she is at peace. My thoughts, prayers and love go out to BOb, Nikki, Lori and Drae....I love you all.

Bob and Family - So sorry to hear of Karen's passing. Have not seen Karen since the 60's when we were neighbors down there on Church street. And even then she was probably just rolling her eyes at the things JB and I did and the trouble we somehow managed to get into. But apparently, as my sister Shirley alluded to, she had her moments of mischief as well! My thoughts and prayers are with all the family. And always remember, the separation is only temporary for those who love Christ and are called according to His purpose!

Karen Campfield was my constant friend and companion throughout childhood. Our endless bike rides to the tannery, our frequent overnights, and imbibing in our favorite drink (ginger ale) will always be among my fondest memories. Those were the days when children gathered together without adult supervision to hatch all kinds of imaginative play, and so we all did. I'm sure the Baptist Church will never recover from our Wednesday evening faked, tragic homicide scene designed to let out prayer service. I'm not sure who thought that one up!

There are never any right words to say when your hearts are in pain. Please know how lucky I was to work with Karen for so many years. We liked to swap Brian and Lori stories through the years. We had some good laughs. I know that she is at peace, but the world is a little emptier without her. Love to you all.

To the Hendershot family, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Karen side-by-side my first 2 years at Wallenpaupack and even though she gave me a little tough time at first coming from New York, we grew to respect each other and remain friends till this day. I will miss her emails and lunches with her. Peace be with all of you.

Please know how much I respected and loved Karen. She was a spedial friend to all the Kennedys and could always find Tom even if none of us could! When Tom had to stay home for a week because of an episode and was driving me CRAZY she brought the office to our home everyday. Way beyond the call of duty-but saved my sanity! She was such a voracious reader and we often had book talks. I will miss her as my email buddy, too. Please find comfort in all the good memories. May she rest in peace.

Memories - I have so many of them. It was my distinct honor and pleasure to work with Karen for over twenty-seven years. She was extremely competent and confident is her skills She was not just my secretary - she was my confidante and my friend. Karen was my right hand who made my job easy, and she always had my back when school became a "challenge." My prayers go out to the family, and please know what a special place Karen had in my heart.
