John William Kammerer, age 87, of Hidden Lake Estates, Hawley and formerly of St. Mary's Villa in Elmhurst, PA; South Carolina; New York City and Rockland County, NY, died Friday, January 27, 2012 at Lackawanna Rehab Center in Olyphant.
Mr. Kammerer was born April 11, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late William and Louise (Hirselberger) Kammerer.
He served in the Navy during World War II and was a typewriter repairman for Olivetti Co. and was a member of Our Lady of the Sea RC Church in South Carolina and St. Mary's Villa in Elmhurst, PA.
He is survived by two daughters: JoAnne Bardsley of Hawley, PA, Janet Cos of New Windsor, NY and two sons: Robert Kammerer of Rochester, MN, Thomas Kammerer of Albany, NY; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.
