Obituary of Jean R. Gumble

Jean R. Gumble, age 79, of Paupack died Friday, April 27, 2012 at home. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Zane A. Gumble.
Born June 3, 1932, in Honesdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herman R. and Alice A. (Watson) Laabs. She was a graduate of Hawley High School, Class of 1950. Prior to her retirement, she had been the Postmaster of the Paupack Post Office for 25 years.
Mrs. Gumble was a member of Paupack United Methodist Church and its choir, as well as the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed knitting and was an avid stamp collector.
Jean will be remembered for her beautiful smile and loving heart.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter: Julie Diana Dearring and her husband Mike of Locust Grove, VA; three sons: Mark and his wife Sheryl of Hawley, Greg and his companion Debbie Arnold of Hawley, and Douglas and his wife Karoline of Paupack; seven grandchildren: Josh and Zach, Patty and Jonathan, Ryan, Bradley and Kevin; and one great granddaughter: Savannah.
Calling hours will be Tuesday,May 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Wednesday, May 2, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Rarich, Former Pastor of Paupack United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Paupack, following the service.
