Obituary of Edwin Theodore Redlich

Edwin Theodore "Ted" Redlich, age 86, of Woodloch Springs, Hawley, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2014.
Mr. Redlich was born May 18, 1927, in Manhattan, NY, and was the son of the late Edwin and Stephanie (Soubiran) Redlich. He was predeceasd by a son, William T. Redlich and a sister, Stephanie Speir.
Ted joined the Coast Guard during WW II and attended Defiance College in Defiance, OH, where he met his wife, Rosemary Degler. He earned his living in the printing business, owning and operating Redlich Printing Company until he retired in 1992. He was an active member of the Huntington Men's Chorus and St. Peter's Lutheran Church choir in Huntington Station. He was active during America's Bicentennial by joining the Huntington Militia where he was involved in many Revolutionary re-enactments and was a member of the Wayne Choraliers. He was past president, treasurer and choir member and charter member of the Men of Bethel at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Rowland and enjoyed planning events at the church. He enjoyed boating on Long Island Sound and Lake Wallenpaupack. Ted liked people and was very outgoing and was loved by many.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Rosemary Kathleen (Degler) Redlich; a daughter & son-in-law: Rev. Kathleen (Redlich) Harkness and her husband Jeffrey of Pipersville, PA; a son: John R. Redlich of Huntington Station, NY; four grandchildren: Sarah E. Romano, John T. Redlich, Theodore T. Harkness, and Joseph W. Redlich; and five great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 11th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 12th, at 11 AM at Bethel Lutheran Church, Church Road, Rowland, with Rev. Norman R. Beighley, Pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church, and Rev. Kathleen D.R. Harkness, Pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Southampton, PA co-officiating.
Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.
