Kelly and Kevin- I knew your dad since I was 16 in High School. He was the "big brother" I never had. I am so glad that we were able to see each other again after so many years. He was a great guy. We had alot of memories from when we were young. It's so hard to see this happen to someone you really care about. I will miss him terribly. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Aunt Evelyn and her family as well. God Bless.

Kelly and Kevin, I'm so sorry for your loss. I have the fondest memories of your dad, the house he built, and how much he loved you, your mom, and the dogs. He was a kind man and I'm sorry he's gone so soon. Love, Lauren

Dear Evelyn,Kelly and Kevin: I can not begin to express my (ours-Pop also)sorrow for your loss of my cousin, your Dad- Ev. I will always hold and treasure all my great childhood days with him in Roselle and Hillside as we grew up in our teens!...playing baseball, delivering newspapers, wiffle ball in the street at 416 Jouet st with the Brittons, Lake Hopatcong summer days swimming, birthday parties and the list goes on and on! He will always be in my heart as a cherished time I spent in my youth..I wish we would have been able to have kept closer contact as we grew older...dont let that slip by any of you--remember family and hold strong to it! I will be up in Ithaca this weekend of 26th for my sons college graduation, so unfortuantely, I will be unable to attend the serve, but my (our)prayers and thoughts will be with you. Love cousins Alan and Albert

Spoke with Everett over the phone, about 2 years ago and for the first time since high school, about not being able to get together at his sister's house. We recalled different events from our childhood on Jouet St. I will always remember when burning toy army soldiers in the backwoods, Everett wanted to maximise the fire by pouring dry gasoline directly from the can. The fire advanced up the stream until the whole can in his hand became emflamed. Everett was able to blow out the flames after several deep huffs. Everett remembered us riding the streets illegally on some makeshift gocart/motorbike, when suddenly the cops appeared and we tore ass.

Brownie, I'm sure you know how bad I feel - it only hurts when I breathe. I remember all the way back to Kindergarten and my earliest memories when we ate from the same ice cream pop - that made us buddies - and buddies stick together. We went off on our own to make our own lives but always snuck in phone calls, visits, and stories we could tell from the past from soap box derbies to racing on Fish House Rd in Newark. Together we went from "bad-ass" to 2 old men looking for reading glasses and sharing medication.
BUT THE REAL PROOF of friendship is yet to come --
it will happen in the middle of the night someplace far out west - maybe Wyoming - it will be the darkest of nights, coldest of cold, windy and snowy, and the highway gates will be closed. It will be one of those nights when I think it's just God and me and I'm scared stiff -- I'll look over to the passenger seat and there you will be. You'll be wearing a black Goodwrench hat, shiny glasses, and have that memorable smirk on your face (probably needing a haircut), trying to help shift my truck and telling me "let's set the road on fire."
Everett -- you are my best and oldest friend -- and you have been my bud for 55 years, 8 months, and 19 days. I'm gonna miss ya, buddy, with all my heart. Wherever you are, go as fast as you can ... and keep the engine running for me!
Love, Danny-man

Eve,
It seems like yesterday. I can remember you leaving for PA to start your new life. Harrison School, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, we we always friends. Our neighborhood and the fun we had. The days at Abraham Clark HS, summer vacations, your go cart and motor bike that you made yourself. And the Chevy man with the blue 69 Chevelle. These are all great memories. All to many to mention. Yesterday will always be only two doors away on Jouet Street.
