Marianna,
You have touched many lives, this I am sure, and you have certainly touched mine. It was a priveledge to have known and cared for you in your final days. I will always remember your last Sunday, out in the courtyard with the sun shining on your face having a grand time with family and friends. God bless you and your family.

Maria Gil posted a condolence
I knew Maria (the name she told me to call her by)during the later part of her life. But from the way she laughed and danced and relished living, I felt I also knew the young, vibrant woman I hadn't met. I remember her sitting at Carl and Deborah's kitchen table,an almost empty dish of pasta in front of her, regaling me with the most outlandish tales of her exploits then checking to see if I believed her. "I was hot stuff," she told me many times. I'm sure she still is, up in heaven knocking them dead. I moved away and she grew frail and ill. I didn't see her anymore but I'll never forget her, how she loved her family, how fondly she spoke of Carl and Deborah, and how she made me smile. A buon anima, Maria!

Nanna, Although we didn't see each other too often in the 7 years that we've known each other, I always valued the little time we did spend together. You are truly a great inspiration with a heart of gold and the strength of a bull with all you went through over the last year. I will miss your spirit and craziness. God bless you and your family. XOXOXO Love You!

I didn't get the chance to know Marianna as long as I would have liked but in the short time I did, she taught me to live life every moment possible. She lived life up until her last days.

My niece, Donna found a 2003 birthday card I gave to mom in her apartment after she passed and said what I wrote made her cry. I decided after reading it to honor mom with placing it here before she leaves this web site.
Hey Mom, 12/24/2003
Isn't it great, our relationship as mother and son. I think of it often and am amazed at the things that you do! I'm excited by the fun we have. I am comforted by sharing a world with you and only you and I know what that means; we have a special connection. We share a very multi-dimensional and broad relationship as mother and son and I thank you for all the levels we do communicate on. So on this special day, Your Birthday, I say to you like no other can, I am your Son! Happy Birthday Mom, I’ll love you always.

A Mothers Day card from 5/08/11:
Dear Mom, First of all, Happy Mothers day! For the past twenty years we've been partners in crime, having fun and laughter while camping, fishing, partying and I feel so blessed to have a nut of a Mom to share all this with.
You are my best friend, the best Mom who is always there with the right words to make things better. To convey she understands and to prevent me from feeling alone!
Thank you for all you've given me including your nutty genes! I'm always your son, your friend, your caretaker and I wouldn't want it any other way!
Love Carl

Dear Mom,
Who would I be? Great or small, it dosen't matter, for I would be a lot less if it wasn't for you! Where can I be? In comfort or distress? It dosen't matter because one of my most fullfilling comforts is when you are here for me. Where am I going? It dosen't matter as long as your there when I arrive for if you are, I know I am not lost.
For all the many great things I've experienced would have not come to be if not for you being my Mother and that's all that matters! Happy Mother's Day Mom, Love Carl

To Marianna's family:
I had the honor and priveledge to be one of Marianna's nurses at Milford Senior Care. I remember the night she came in. She looked in my eyes and I said to her, "You have love in your eyes". I knew from that moment that she was a special, one of a kind lady. She made me laugh one day when she said to me, "You again?!" I am just sorry that I didn't get to know her better. I was able to meet her loving family, and they all have love in their eyes just like Marianna! Marianna, you made me love you from the moment you looked in my eyes. Rest in peace Marianna. Loving you, Debbie xoxo

To my Grandma,
When I got the news that you passed, I had a strange sense of knowing that my mom was waiting there for you. Of course at first it hit me hard, knowing that I lost my grandmother, and it took me a while to calm myself down, but once I did, I just kept thinking that my mom was there waiting for you. I'm truly going to miss you, I'm gonna miss your smiles and laughter, and I going to miss the Worrier Queen that you were. I'm going to miss your wildness, and most of all - I'm going to miss the ways you lived your life every day with a smile on your face. I love you Grandma. I wish that I had the time to come and see you before you left, but I know you will always be in my heart and in my thoughts. Rest in peace and party hard with your Daughter!
Love Brian

Dear Nana, You and I have had some history together. From going camping together and cooking, watching old musicals and just exchanging thoughts about life, you have always been a friend I never had, and a true mentor for life. Thanks so much for sharing your laughter, your jokes and your company during dark times in my life when I really needed that special lift to pull me through things. I hope that wherever you are now you are peaceful and content and know in my heart that I will truly miss you. Travel Well. Love,Deborah

Dear Carl and Debbie,
Words can never express how truly Blessed we were to have had the joy and honor to know your mother. She welcomed everyone with an open heart and made us feel welcomed as a part of her family. She was always happy and full of joy to be around those she loved. She was a true friend and always a pleasure to be with even 'til the end. She could still 'shimmy' last Sunday!;) Her happy spirit lives in all the lives she touched and in the children she gave life to! God Bless you all in your time of sorrow. May you find peace in knowing that Marianna's love surrounds you in the love and joy you have for one another. R.I.P. beloved friend!

Hi grandma.....well you know me always the procrastonator. I might not be the last one to do this but i bet im close. I dont think I ever told you this but you have been a very big part of my life. You have never been to my apartment but I do see you everynight before i go to bed because i have your picture on my bedside table. It has been there for years. I have recently been thinking alot about old times. Ever since Febuary to tell you the truth. Even during your last few ours on this earth you managed to make me smile. I asked you if we could pillow fight and you gave me this big smile. You didn't say a word just a smile and I felt like I was 10 again and feathers were fling around the room. Mom was so mad...you told her get over it...I had to hold back the laughter because i knew i would be next on the list. Thank you so much for the many good times and laughs we had through out the years. My only regret is growing up and losing so much more valuable time we could have had. For this i am truly sorry. i want you to rest up now and be ready for the rest of us to join you at our perspective times and remember you owe me a pillow fight when we meet again. I love you and will miss you always grandma. Your Crazy Grandson Sal

I remember the time Granny Annie, Aunt Fran, Chrissy, my mother Donna, Denis jr and myself all went to rockaway beach. I was really young. Granny Annie made us all eggplant parm subs for lunch that day. My brother Denis jr was being a trouble maker like always. I stayed up by Granny Annie while she sat in her beach chair and just smiled away. I will always love you Grandma XOXO. Every time I see a corona I'll think of you.
