Jan Christie, 51 years old, born March 10, 1961 in Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully in his sleep, unexpectedly, on June 24, 2012, in Brooklyn, NY. Jan was preceded in death by his mother Billie Jean Christie, father Michael George Christie, and brother Michael George Christie Jr. Jan is survived by his two sons Jan Thomas Christie and Michael Jan Christie, his sisters Billie Jean Christie II and Jamie Christie, brother Brad Christie and his nieces Joie, Courtney, Mary and nephew Dustin. Jan enjoyed cooking and was an avid sports fan. He found life to be the happiest and most fulfilling when he was surrounded by his family with a wonderful home cooked meal as the centerpiece, a good game on TV and a lot of laughter. He was incredibly grateful for the support, guidance and love that those closest to him provided throughout his journey. On behalf of his family we would like to thank all of you for the kindness, love, and prayers we have received during this very difficult time. Interment will take place following the service at BVM Queen of Peace RC Cemetery, Hawley.
