Obituary of Cheryl L. Swaney

Cheryl L. Swaney, age 69, of Hawley and formerly of Brielle, NJ, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Regional Hospital Of Scranton. Mrs. Swaney was born October 3, 1945 in Elizabeth, NJ and was the daughter of the late Howard and Pearl (Huttle) Shugard. Cheryl was a homemaker and a youth club coordinator at her NJ church. She sang in three bands at the NJ shore and acted in plays at Lakewood, NJ. She was a member and former elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Hawley and the Hawley Planning Commission and the Jr. Woman's club in NJ. Cheryl was active with the miniature horse club. She is survived by her husband of 48 years: John B Swaney; one daughter: Debra Swaney of Hawley, PA; one son & daughter-in-law, Keith & Lisa Swaney of Haddon Twp., NJ; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Danielle, Jacob, Abigail, Nathan, Justine; two sisters: Valerie Lang of FL, Andrea Witfill of FL and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 13th at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church Of Hawley, 815 Church St, Hawley with Rev. William Samford, Pastor officiating. Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association NEPA District, 613 Baltimore St., Suite 3, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702 in memory of Cheryl.
