Obituary of Evelyn F McNett

Evelyn F. McNett, age 77, of Paupack died Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Born October 31, 1937, in Englewood, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Johanna (Stoeht) Ost. Evelyn was a secretary and transportation coordinator for Wallenpaupack Area School District for many years until her retirement in 1998. She had also worked as a receptionist for Paupack Hills. She was a member of Paupack United Methodist Church and a Red Cross volunteer. She enjoyed crafts such as embroidery, cross-stitch and sewing, but the thing she loved best to do was to sit in the sun by the lake. She is survived by her children: Todd Abicht and his wife Renee of Carlisle, PA, Laurie Oberti and her husband Rich of Wayne, NJ, and Tammy Weist and her husband Andy of Honesdale; her brother: Rob Ost and his wife Gin of Greentown; her grandchildren: Jamie Abarca, Nicholas and Mitchell Worzel, Maxx Oberti, Christian Coutts, Katelyn and Karleigh Weist, Brandon, Shawn and Justin Abicht, and Brooke Mego; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Jamie Abicht; a sister, Ruth VanWagoner; and a brother, John Ost. Calling hours will be Monday, July 13, from 5 to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday, July 14, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Robert L. Wood, Pastor of Paupack United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tafton.
