Barbara McConnell, age 77, of Friendly Acres, Hawley, died following an illness Monday, April 7, 2014, at home. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Francis McConnell. Born December 19, 1936, in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Caroline (Munch) Thomas. Formerly of Bayshore, LI, NY, she had been a Hawley resident since 1985. Mrs. McConnell was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Parish, Shohola, PA. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Barbara Ann Uzupes and her husband Robert of Hawley, Linda Nutt and her companion William McCandless of Hamburg, PA, Thomas McConnell of Long Island, NY, Diana Fusco and her husband Robert of Scotch Plains, NJ, Edward McConnell and his wife Joan of Gilbert, AZ, Susan DeAngelis and her husband Charles of Manorville, NY, Rose'Ann Orkin and her husband James of Hawley, and April Nutt and her husband Victor of Greeley; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday, April 10, from 9 to 11 AM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. There will be a Funeral Mass held on Thursday, April 10, at 12:00 Noon at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Parish, , Shohola, with Rev. Thomas Major officiating. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
