Obituary of Thomas E. Ross

Thomas E. Ross, age 79, of Tanglwood Lakes, Greentown, died Saturday, September 19, 2015, at VNA Hospice at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Irene (Carroll) Ross.
Born July 28, 1936, in Canarsie, Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late John and Christine Alma (Becker) Ross. A Marine Corps veteran, he was a retired NYPD detective. Following his retirement, he worked in corporate security for Public Service Electric and Gas in Newark, NJ.
Mr. Ross was a member of the Detective's Endowment Association and Marine Corps Association. While living on Long Island, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also volunteered at the Gino Merli Veterans Center and enjoyed playing senior softball.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Toniann Lettenberger, Denise Paone and Thomas Ross, all of Deer Park, LI, NY; three grandchildren: Michael, Karly and Taylor; one brother: Kenneth Ross of California; five stepchildren: Nancy Flint of Holmdel, NJ, Eva Scimone of Manalapan, NJ, Betsy Flint of Staten Island, NY, Deborah Tuzzo of Red Bank, NJ, and Alex Flint of Staten Island, NY; and six step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Alyssa and John Ross.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a future date to be announced. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
