Obituary of Donald M. Reisinger

Donald M. Reisinger, age 84, of Hawley was welcomed into the Arm of the Lord on Friday, January 29, 2016 at home. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vivian A. (Hiris) Reisinger.
Born March 10, 1931, in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Anthony and Hazel (White) Reisinger. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy in Albany, NY, and attended Siena College. He also completed the GE Apprentice Course. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955.
Formerly of Rotterdam, NY, he retired in 1987 as a Senior Designer for General Electric, for which he had worked for 37 years. Mr. Reisinger was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was formerly the sexton for the church. He was a Life Member and Officer of Iroquois Rod and Gun Club in Rotterdam, NY, and a member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting and built flintlock rifles. He assisted in the reforming of Troop 401 of the Boy Scouts of America in Hawley and received the Order of the Arrow in recognition. In addition, he coached youth baseball in New York and in Hawley.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter: Alyssa Paquette and her husband Ray of Hawley; two sons: Douglas Reisinger and his wife Elizabeth of Clifton Park, NY, and Darreck Reisinger and his wife Elizabeth of Plaistow, NH; nine grandchildren: Kayla, Alex, Morgan, Mitchell, Ethan, Eliza, Kellan, Evan and Grace; one sister: Karen Budka and her husband Len of Glenville, NY; one brother: Robert Reisinger and his companion Maria Caruso of Rotterdam, NY; his brother-in-law: Arno Hiris and his wife Maria; his sister-in-law: Deborah Hiris; nieces, nephews, an aunt and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife Lois, his infant daughter Kimberly, his sister-in-law Lois, and his nephew Kurt.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 2, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Wednesday, February 3, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 405 Church St., Hawley, with Rev. Colleen E. Cox Pastor officiating.
Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen of Peace Cemetery, Hawley.
