Marie P. Jabon, age 103, of Hemlock Farms, Hawley died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at home. Born October 15, 1912, in Petionville, Haiti, she was the daughter of the late Astrel and Babette (Pierre) Mortes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Jabon, in 1987. She worked as a seamstress until her retirement and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a voracious traveler throughout the world and collected teacups and jewelry from every place she visited. A devoutly spiritual woman, she was also elegant, spicy and full of life. She is survived by her son: Alix Fils-Aime of Lakeville; three granddaughters: Karin Gartner and her husband Reinhard of Cochecton, NY, Holly Murphy and her husband Shawn of West Grove, PA, and Mary Jane Lawal of Hemlock Farms, Hawley; two grandsons: Alix Fils-Aime and his wife Sue of Williamsport and Christian Fils-Aime of Hemlock Farms, Hawley; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her great grandson, Antoine and her daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Fils-Aime. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Thomas Moore RC Church, 106 Gravity Rd in Lake Ariel, PA on March 11th at 11 AM, family will be receiving friends from 10 to 11 AM. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel. Memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses, sent to Mary Jane Lawal, 3579 Hemlock Farms, Hawley, PA 18428.
