Obituary of Sandra L. Gelderman

Sandra L. Gelderman, age 67, of Hawley died following a lengthy illness Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Liberty Nursing And Rehabilitation Center, Allentown. She is survived by her husband, Dan Gelderman, whom she married in 1994. Born April 7, 1949, in McKeesport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Eunice (Pickell) Gibb. She had been a Hawley resident since 1985. Prior to her illness, she had volunteered for the Wayne-Pike Adult Literacy Program and the Eagle Institute in Narrowsburg. She had been a member of Blooming Grove Baptist Church and also taught Sunday school there. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter: LuAnn VanOrden and her fiance' Ed Mowery of Reading, PA; two sisters: Linda Gibb and Shawnea Estrella of Maine; one brother: Samuel Gibb of West Virginia; five grandchildren: Mackenzie and Jeremiah Van Orden, Kiara Mowery, Skyler Gray and Bryce Mowery; and her son-in-law: Chris Gray of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis VanOrden, in 1985, and a daughter, Jennifer Gray, in 2009. Calling hours will be Monday, August 15, from 6 to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday, August 16, at 10:30 at the funeral home with Rev Douglas Rhine, Pastor of Blooming Grove Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Clove Cemetery, Sussex, NJ.
