Peg and family,
There really are no words to express how sorry I am for such a great loss. I know only too well the pain and hearbreak you are all experiencing right now and although somehow we get through it and learn to live with it....it never goes away. We remember and become so grateful for all the beautiful memories our loved one has left us to help us go forward in life. Although I didn't know Marty as well as many others did...I know he must have been someone very special just by knowing what a beautiful loving family he left behind. Sitting at Marty's memorial service, my heart was touched beyond words at the love and friendship that flowed throughout the room. The words, tears and even the laughter we all experienced that day were a true testament to who Marty was and how much he was loved and will be forever missed. What at tribute to celebrate his life.
Peg....my heart is with you and you are all in my prayers. Rest in peace now Marty..

Received word as I returned home, of the death of a wonderful pastor and friend, Marty L. Cox, whose birthday is today. Gathering as we worked together as clergy in the Wallenpaupack area, sharing so much, all of life in ministry....Marty was a colleague who celebrated life well and was there when needed...he also communicated grace.....hope he finds a good fishing spot....he was the only person I knew who had his fishing pole perpetually ready to go.......I was blessed to know him.......

One of the most beautiful celebrations of life I have been to. It was a privilege to be there. Marty was an important part of our family, attending church with him as our pastor and with his family has been part of the glue that keeps our family together.

I always considered and still do, that Rev Marty Cox was a very wise man. His calm countenance and contemplating pipe smoking will be sorely missed in our community. My heart goes out to all his family as they adapt to his physical absence. But his memory will stay with all of us. Love and hugs to you all.

Dear Cox family,
My deepest condolence to you all. Marty was a classmate of mine 1962. We were friends in school. We could seat and talk for a long time. I loss my mother at 16 years old and moved from Pennsylvania to the Fall's to stay with my brother. Even at a young age Marty could take you to his heart and make you feel better. I thank Marty for all those wonderful talks. And he made me feel welcome as a stranger to the classmates and to the Falls.
Rest in Peace Marty with the Lord. Thank you for your love and wisdom.

Marty Cox, was such a strength to our family, at times of need. He gave you the feeling,
things will be okay. He married my wife and I, and baptized all my now, three grown children. He was a natural, as a minister of the cloth. He was a man of presence,
and talked and treated all people the same. The community has lost a rock, and the foundation,of a man who truly did make differences in peoples life. Marty you will be missed by so many in our community, Now he is at a new community, back home.!!
God bless Peggy, and all your wonderful family!

Dear Peggy and all the family – We were very saddened and shocked to hear of Marty’s passing. He was truly ‘one of a kind’ with a remarkable combination of wit, wisdom, intelligence, compassion, and a heart for the Lord and His Word that brought it all together as only Marty could. I believe he would not want us to put the focus on what he did (though he accomplished so much for so many), but rather what Jesus Christ has done for him, and all of us, and how we should respond to such unfathomable love and boundless grace. He fought the good fight and ran the good race, to the finish, and is now enjoying his eternal reward. He will always hold a special place in our hearts and memories and will be greatly missed (until we see him again)!! You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Marty was my friend from our teenage years in Akron Ohio. We met twice in the not too distant past, once for lunch in Milford PA where we talked about the "good old days" and again at Carneige Hall, in NYC, where we met his beautiful wife. I regret not seeing him more.
He could play a trombone with perfection, he could make me laugh when I was sad, he was a trusted and true friend. We had wonderful times as teenagers...he was my friend.
I wish I could tell him what he meant to me, I hope he knew.
We send our deepest sympathies to his family, he loved you all. He told me about each of you with the greatest smile on his face!
To his brother and sisters...hugs, prayers and love from me to you. Please keep in touch.
Rich and I will be with you Thursday in Hawley, we regretfully cannot attend the service Friday. Our hearts are with each and every one of you.
God speed Marty, well done good and faithful servant! Give Jesus a hug from me!
