Obituary of Eugene J. Brice

Eugene J. "Geno" Brice, Sr., age 71, of Hawley died following a brief illness on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at home. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathleen F. (Pratt) Brice. Born August 29, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Eugene Francis and Elizabeth (Buddensick) Brice. Formerly of New York, he had been a Hawley resident for 35 years. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a chef. Geno leaves a legacy of lives touched by his friendship and generosity. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Denise M. Brice and Tim Swartwood of Hawley; his son and daughter-in-law: Gene J. Brice Jr. and Denise Brice of Lords Valley; four granddaughters: Briella, Kinzey and Sophia Brice and Nevaeh Swartwood; his sister: Fran Barbato and her husband Tony of Honesdale; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Carmine. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 22, at 1 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, with Deacon John Giglio of BVM Queen of Peace RC Church officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until 1 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
