Obituary of Walter L. Ulrich

Walter L. Ulrich, age 89, of Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart died Thursday, December 8, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. (Hickman) Ulrich, in 2013. Born February 24, 1927, in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Julia (Zielinska) Ulrich. A World War II Navy veteran, Walter worked as a maintenance man for Acme Markets prior to his retirement. He had previously been a resident of both Jersey City, NJ and Tafton, PA. Walter was a member of Paupack United Methodist Church, but had previously been a member of Hawley United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church of Hawley. He was also a member of the 55+ Club. He was an avid bowler and puzzle solver and enjoyed painting. In his younger years, he played softball. He is survived by one daughter: Linda Mogitz of Bethlehem, PA; a granddaughter: Lisa Arencibia and her husband Victor of Branchburg, NJ; one great grandson: Michael Arencibia; one sister: Barbara Flowers of Dingmans Ferry; and three brothers: Thomas Ulrich of Brick, NJ, Richard Ulrich of Spring Hill, FL and James Ulrich of Fairlawn, NJ any several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday, December 9, from 2 to 5 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Saturday, December 10, at 11:00 AM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley with Rev. Robert L. Wood of Paupack United Methodist Church officiating.
