Obituary of Marcia B Schmidt

Marcia B Schmidt, age 79, of Lakeville died Friday, February 3, 2017, at home. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Robert Schmidt. Born February 8, 1937, in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick William and Miriam (Mason) Baum. She worked on the staff of Churchville Elementary School until her retirement in 2011. While living in Churchville, she was active with the Boy Scouts and often volunteered with childrens' sports groups. She was a member of Ivyland United Methodist Church in Ivyland, PA. A part-time Lake Wallenpaupack resident since 1997, she became a member of Lakeville United Methodist Church, when she and her husband moved to Lakeville full-time in 2011. In addition to her husband Charles, she is survived by three sons: Robert Charles Schmidt, Bruce Allan Schmidt, and Andrew William Schmidt; three daughters-in-law: Jaclyn, Mariann and Denise; one brother: Frederick William Baum Jr.; and her grandchildren: Meghan, Courtney, Caroline, Anna, Elizabeth, Emily and Benjamin. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, at Lakeville United Methodist Church, 431 Purdytown Turnpike, Lakeville with Pastor Fred Snyder officiating. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Memorial donations may be made to the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 431 Purdytown Turnpike, Lakeville, PA 18438.
