Sarah, Jimmy & Sharon, Joe & Cathy and family - I am so very sorry for your loss! What a wonderful man! I have so many fond memories - of school, at the house, etc. He always had a smile and helpful words or actions for anyone that encountered him. Another of Hawley's great icons - he will be sorely missed by the community and those who knew him. May your memories comfort you at this sad time.

Leroy and I are so sorry to hear of Rod's passing. Rod was a special friend to both of us. I worked with him at WNIS for many years, right around the corner. He was super supportive and was always there to listen. Leroy and Rod worked tirelessly on the Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame of which they are both members. They also had a special bond when it came to elementary education. Rod was a true friend and always had a ready smile. He will be missed. So sorry that we will be away on Tuesday and will be unable to be at Rod's Memorial Mass. He and all of the Adams family are in our prayers.

Dear Jim, Sharon and Family, Joe and Kathy and Sarah and Family,
I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. Knowing him before I moved to Hawley, at sporting events and other places I'd see him he treated me like he knew me for year's. I mentioned it to my Mom back then and she told me he was friends with her, my Aunt's and Uncle, prior to his passing, way to young. When I moved to Hawley your Mom ran the Senior Center, which she had for year's and we became Great friends over the phone when I started receiving home bound meals. Your Dad delivered to me on Friday's, after a short time he scheduled me as his last delivery and we talked sports along with so much more, it was the best hour plus of my week.
Like I have to tell you how Greatly he will be missed by so many in Hawley, around the area and plus. With the Great things he did wearing the different hats throughout his teaching career not to mention for the Boro of Hawley - will not be forgotten.
I know words can not explain how much all of you feel and miss him - I do know it's more than any of us can imagine.
Everyone please know you're in my Thoughts and Prayers.

I feel as if I’ve known Rod my entire life having lived across the street from the Adams family as a child. Then, forty-some years ago, our family moved in across from Rod and Margie – so our kids, essentially, grew up together on Church Street. During the best part of 25 years, I also served as Rod’s secretary in the district’s guidance office. But he was more than a neighbor and a boss; he was also a dear and valued friend. Empathetic and generous to a fault, Rod took great pleasure in doing for others. He also enjoyed a good joke and his laugh was an undeniable Adams trait. He will be missed and remembered fondly. Rest in peace, old friend.

To the Adams Family,
Your father was a good man. Not only did I work with him as a colleague but as a student. He always had a smile on his face. He truly cared about all children. He wanted to help them become confident, build their self esteem and loved to see them smile. He treated colleagues with respect and friendliness. He actively cared about Hawley and definitely made our community a better place to live.
I will miss his smile and his guidance. He touched hundreds of people with his caring compassion. He made many people's lives better. I thank him for the kindness he extended to our family. He will not be forgotten. And may he Rest In Peace.
My sincere condolences,
Katie Dougherty

I met Mr Adams when I was in 7th grade when as a 7th grader we moved to the new Wallenpaupack Area High School from our little High School in Newfoundland. He was my reading teacher in Jr. High and guidance counselor all through Jr. and Sr. High School. His kind spirit made him a favorite of mine all through school and even during the years I worked at the school up until the time of his retirement. His gentle and kind mannerism made him a man who touched the lives of hundreds as an example of what a man should be. My thoughts and prayers are with his family through this difficult time. May God fill your thoughts with good memories of a great man. Gary Gilpin
