Obituary of Douglass Krom

Douglass Krom, age 69, of Honesdale died Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Wilkes Barre and he also received care at the Wilkes-Barre VA Hospital.

Mr. Krom was born April 30, 1948 in Reading, PA and was the son of the late Gershom G. and Mabel E. (Geiger) Krom.

He served in the Navy during Vietnam war . Douglass earned his bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and owned Krom Associates, a real estate appraisal company.

He was a church Elder, former council member, financial secretary at the Paupack United Methodist Church and choir member at Paupack United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church in Honesdale and Hawley, member of the Honesdale VFW Post 531, and Gidons International.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years: Maureen (Ott) Krom and one son: Morgan Krom of Beach Lake, PA; daughter Noel Krom & partner Philip Young of Jefferson Twp., PA; daughter Laurel & husband, James Swingle of Jefferson Twp., PA; step son, Robert, Jr. & wife, Melissa Renner of Stafford, VA; step daughter & husband, Sireena & Roger Edwards of Boca Raton, FL; six grandchildren, Cirenaty Krom, Julia Renner, Andrew Edwards, James (JD) Swingle, Matthew Edwards, Michael Swingle ; three sisters Betty Ann & husband, Brian Matthews of Tafton; Barbara Spinelli, of Tafton and Margaret & husband, Ernie Forchetti of Florida; many nieces and nephews and his former wife, Robin Robinson of Easton, PA.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 10 to 11 am at First Presbyterian Church-Honesdale, 10th & Church St., Honesdale, PA, followed by the funeral at 11 am with Rev. Michael Lyle officiating.

Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel. .
