Obituary of Doy Neal Grim

Doy Neal Grim, Jr., age 73, a lifelong resident of Blooming Grove, died Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Ann (Cooper) Grim. Married January 8, 1966, they had celebrated their 51st anniversary this year.

Born November 19, 1943, in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Doy Neal Grim Sr. and Mildred Viola (Arick) Grim. A member of the last class to graduate from Hawley High School, he served in both the US Navy and the US Air Force.

He was Electronics Leader at Tobyhanna Army Depot until his retirement in 2002. Doy was a member of American Legion, Wilson-Kelch Post 311, Hawley, a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans in Scranton, Lords Valley Sportsman Club, and had been a longtime member of Blooming Grove Volunteer Fire Company. Although he loved motorcycles, his greatest love was his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son: Neal G. Grim of Blooming Grove; one daughter: Denise Steuhl and her husband Michael of Greeley; four grandchildren: Luke and Mason Grim and Ethan and Fayth Steuhl; one sister: Janet Williams and her husband Jerry of Honesdale; his mother-in-law: Ethel Cooper of Tafton; his sister-in-law: Joan Grim of Paupack; many nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood Grim.

Calling hours will be Monday, August 7, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday, August 8, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lords Valley Cemetery, Lords Valley, following the funeral.
