Helen M. Campion, age 94, of Holy Family Residence of Scranton died Tuesday, March 13, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Vincent Joseph Campion, in 1980.
Born July 24, 1923, in Glendale, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Fredericks) Mullaly. Formerly of Freeport, NY, she had been a longtime Hawley resident. A member of BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Hawley, she had formerly been a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and an Extraordinary Minister.
She is survived by one daughter: Ellen Keefer and her husband Robert of Hawley; two sons: Kevin Campion and his wife Kathy of Honesdale and Daniel Campion and his wife Joanne of Merrick, NY; seven grandchildren: Anthony Campion of Freeport, NY, Brian Keefer of Locust Grove, GA, Shannon Rambone of Honesdale, Colleen Campion of Honesdale, Jillian Campion of Merrick, NY, Daniel Campion of Merrick, NY, Christine Stegman of Long Island, NY ; six great grandchildren: Rowan Keefer, Cale Keefer, Anthony Campion, Peter Rambone, Tina Trotta and Nicholas Trotta; and a daughter-in-law: Francine Campion of Freeport, NY.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Vincent and Paul Campion, and two brothers, Jack and Daniel Mullaly.
Calling hours will be Monday, March 19, from 3 to 6 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, March 20, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, with Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor, officiating. A memorial Mass will be held Wednesday March 21 at 11 AM at Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave in Scranton.
Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley.
In appreciation of the extraordinary care taken by their entire staff, the family of Mrs. Campion has requested that donations in her memory be made to Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.
