Obituary of Robert M. Cavanaugh

Robert M. Cavanaugh, age 55, of Tink Wig, Hawley died Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Manhattan. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, the former Terry Venis. Born May 10, 1957, in Queens, NY, he was the son of Anna (Berger) Cavanaugh of Tobyhanna, and the late Robert Cavanaugh. He was a retired sanitation worker for the NYC Sanitation Department. He loved to golf, fish and garden and was a talented handyman. He never stopped going and was always working on a project. Although he loved spending time by the river with his dogs, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife and family. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters: Shannon Cavanaugh of Hawley and Jennifer Lopez and her husband Mark of New York; three sons: Steven, Robert and Ryan Cavanaugh, all of New York; four grandchildren: Nadine, Ashlee, Madison and Sean; sisters: Susan Guastella and Peggy Russo; and a brother: Brian Cavanaugh. Calling hours will be Thursday, October 11, from 7 to 9 PM and Friday, October 12, from 2 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Saturday, October 13, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 405 Church St., Hawley, with Rev. Colleen E. Cox, Pastor, officiating. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
