Obituary of Thomas Francis Crane

Thomas Francis Crane, Jr., age 56, of Sunset Point, Hawley died Friday, April 20, 2018, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton.

Born June 13, 1961, in Abington, PA, he was the son of Ruth Elizabeth (Nicholson) Thomas and the late Thomas Francis Crane. He graduated from Lower Moreland High School, where he was a 4-year varsity letterman on the wrestling team, earning both District and Regional Championship medals. He was also a member of the National Honor Society. After graduating with a BS Degree in Education from Albright University, he earned his Master's Degree from Holy Family University. He was a school teacher in the Reading School District for many years.

An avid archery and gun enthusiast, he also liked to fish and he tried to play golf. He was a talented writer and photographer and had an awesome sense of humor.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather: Ruth Elizabeth and Wes Thomas; one brother and sister-in-law: Doug and Nancy Crane of Tyrone, GA; one niece: Jennifer Defler of Fayetteville, GA; and one nephew: Lance Crane of Newnan, GA.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey "Beaver" Crane, and his father, Thomas Francis Crane, both in 2017.

Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel, PA.
