Obituary of Eva H. Muehter

Eva H. Muehter, age 85, of Tafton died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart. She is survived by her husband, Manfred Muehter Jr. Fred and Eva would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on May 3.

Born April 14, 1933, in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Hague. She earned her Bachelors Degree from Kean College and her Masters Degree from Georgian Court College. Prior to her retirement in 1999, she was a teacher for the Barnegat School District in New Jersey. A 20-year resident of Tafton, she had previously lived in Bricktown, NJ.

Eva was a member of BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Hawley, where she was a member of the Quilting Club. Eva was a very active volunteer in her local community, especially at the Hawley Public Library and Wallenpaupack Area Primary School.

In addition to her husband, Eva is survived by two daughters: Katherine Muehter of Verona, NJ and Cynthia Muehter and her spouse Elaine Hughes of Howell, NJ; two sons: Manfred K. Muehter and his spouse Patti of Brookline, MA and Karl Muehter of Clementon, NJ; her grandchildren: Elena Muehter, Juliana Muehter, Laura Bauer, Gina Castrianni, Marie Weber, Eric Muehter and Joseph Muehter; and four great grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Roslyn and Evan.

Calling hours will be Sunday, May 6, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. There will be a Funeral Mass Monday, May 7, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, celebrated by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Paupack, PA.
