Obituary of Reinhold Ron Greb

Reinhold "Roni”  Greb, age 82, of Blooming Grove, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at Regional Hospital of Scranton in Scranton.

Roni was born June 27, 1935, in Heigenbrucken, Germany and was the son of the late Joseph J. and Regina (Kunkle) Greb.  In 1952 at the age of 16, he was invited by his aunt and uncle to come to the United States to help on their 200 acre dairy farm in Thompson, Pennsylvania in Susquehanna County. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1957 and was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In 1958 after the death of his uncle he was honorably discharged and granted U.S. Citizenship in recognition of his military service.

In 1970 Roni began work at the Blooming Grove Hunting and Fishing Club, in Blooming Grove, Pennsylvania, as the Trout Hatchery Manager where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 2002.  Over the years Roni has enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending local auctions, and buying and selling land.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Miriam Grace (Barron) Greb, one daughter: Christina Greb of Blooming Grove, PA, one son: Joseph Greb of Blooming Grove, PA,  two grandchildren: Erica and Michael Hogan, and one sister: Christal Messenzehl of Germany.

A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, June 27th at 10:30 am at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church in Blooming Grove, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Shrine or Tafton Fire Company.

Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.
