Obituary of Janet B. Coutts

Janet B. Coutts, age 86, of Paupack died Friday, May 25, 2018 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Albert C. Coutts, in 2008.

Born March 8, 1932, in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late John Charles and Katherine Josephine (Bea) Verrill.  A Paupack resident for most of her life, she had worked at the Big Pine Gift Shop and Paupack Blueberry Farm in her younger years.

Janet was a member of Paupack United Methodist Church where she had been an active volunteer in the past with Women's Society of Christian Service.  For many years she and her husband Albert served as 4-H Leaders, and many remember Janet assisting as a long-time teacher's aide at Paupack Pre-School.

She is survived by one daughter: Amie Subbe and her husband Skip of Pen Argyl; two sons: Al and his wife Marilyn of Paupack and David and his wife Jane of Staatsburg, NY; one sister: Arlene Mulrooney of Easton; one sister-in-law:  Marge Verrill of White Mills; six grandchildren:  Lindsay DiPalma and her husband Mike, Pam Gihring and her husband Brandon, Patricia Coutts, A. J. Coutts and his wife Tammy, Kyle Subbe and Peter Coutts; and five great grandchildren: Cody, Ava, Ace, Mia and Emma.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Verrill.

Calling hours will be Friday, June1, from 9:30 to 11 AM at Paupack United Methodist Church, 579 Route 507, Paupack.  The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM at the church with Mr. Anthony Schwartz officiating.  Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Paupack, following the service.
