I was sorry to hear that Thomas had passed away. He was such a nice man. I got to know Ester and him when I was working on my phd project, and later book, about migration from Norway to New York. My warmest thoughts goes to Ester and family.
With love,
Siv

On behalf of my wife Margrete and myself I send our condolences. It was very sad to receive the news that Thomas is not among us any more. I met Thomas for the first time in 1946 at Lista. An exciting and dangerous place for youngsters. Lista was a German fortress, extrremely fortified and with a concrete runway for Messerchmitt fighters. Thomas was the grown up, Arne and I were the young ones. We had a lot of fun. In 1974 I met Thomas again in Brooklyn after having graduated from US Command and General Staff College and enjoying the hospitality of Ester and Thomas. I moved to USA in 1985 for studies at the US Army War Collge. From that time on we met quite regularly, in Carlisle Pennsylvania, Pengeveien, Scranton, Staten Island, Brussels, Fevik, and Flekkerøy.
Margrete and I enjoyed being together with Ester and Thomas. We always had the good feeling of being wellcomed at Ester and Thomas' home. Thomas had such a good sense of humor, very much to tell about his military service and an excellent guide. Our Family remember vividly the visit on top of World Trade Center, to day its history written in stone as one of tragic places in a world of terrorism.
Thomas is dead, however, our memories of a great friend will forever be with Margrete and myself.
With Our Love
Hjalmar Inge

Onkel Thomas was larger than life. He was the anchor of our family and will be dearly missed.
He and Tante Ester has hosted the entire family every 4th weekend in July for over 40 years now for our family reunion in Rowland.
He has left his mark on all who knew him. I’ve never heard a harsh word said about him.
Rest now in peace Onkel Thomas. A piece of you is in all our hearts and souls. And I know you are in good company.
Love you
