Obituary of Robert Allan Green

Robert Allan Green, age 71, Hawley died Sunday, July 8, 2018 at home.

Mr. Green was born July 13, 1946 in Manhattan, NY and was the son of the late Robert Aaron and Joan (Simpson) Green. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Puopolo.

Bob joined the Army in May of 1965. After basic training and medical training in Texas, he was sent to Vietnam for his first combat tour from 1966-1967. His second tour was 1970-1971 in which he was a combat medic. He stayed in service for eight years and was honorably discharged April 1973. Bob was extremely proud of his military history and received many decorations, medals and commendations. He enjoyed swapping stories with his comrades at the American Legion Post 311 in Hawley. Bob was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Bob worked for Breeze Eastern in Union, NJ until 1983 as the plant maintenance engineer which is where he met his wife, Irene. He then worked for New Jersey Transit Rail as a high-voltage electrician until 1991. He moved to PA in 2000.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years: Irene E. (Morawczynski) Green; a daughter: Samantha Goff of KY; stepson: Carl Maucione and his partner Casey Hinlickey; grandsons, Noah And Levi; adopted son, his grandson, Ryan Wilcha; two sisters: Carol and her husband, John Cuomo of NC, Joan Della Pietro of NJ and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held iSaturday, August 4th at 1 PM at American Legion Post 311, 531 Church St., Hawley, PA.

Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.
