Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Brown

Mary “Bonnie” Brown, age 71, of Hawley died peacefully at home Monday, July 23, 2018.  She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard Allen Brown.

Born June 28, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Doris (Wilton) Barrett.  Bonnie graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School in 1965. 

Formerly of Tafton and Keansburg, NJ, Bonnie had been a Hawley resident for 31 years.  Prior to her retirement, she worked as an office administrator for St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hawley.

Bonnie was a member of BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Hawley.

Bonnie enjoyed camping, photography, cooking, entertaining and bingo.  However, what she loved most were her family and friends and celebrating holidays together, especially Halloween.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Jeanne-Marie Brown of Davenport, FL, and Jaime Bernadette Brown and her partner Michael Pontosky of Hollisterville; two sons: Scott Allen Brown and his wife Donna of Unityville, PA, and Patrick Michael Brown and his wife Erika of Tafton; twelve grandchildren:  Megan, Heather, Todd, Amanda, Richard II, PJ, Jacob, Allison, Emily, Henry, Zoe and Matthew; two great grandchildren:  Angelus and Aurora; one sister:  Jeanne and her husband Doug of The Villages, FL; and many others that considered her Mom.

Calling hours will be Saturday, July 28, from 12 to 2 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA.  The Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
