Obituary of Paul Howard Silfies
Paul H. Silfies, 90, of Tafton, PA passed away on August 20th, at home surrounded by his family. Paul was born in Phillipsburg, NJ to Paul and Alice (Koose) Silfies. Known as Junior to family and friends, he grew up in Tatamy, PA and graduated from Easton High School. Paul enlisted in the US Navy and served near the end of World War II. After retiring from Mack Printing, he moved to his beloved home on Lake Wallenpaupack.
Paul is survived by his wife of 68 years, Catherine (Siegfried) Silfies of Tafton, PA; daughter Sheri Silfies and her partner Catherine and granddaughter Alyssa of Mooresville, NC; daughter Kelly Silfies and her husband Edgar Perez Garcia of Boston, MA/ Mexico City, Mexico; and sister Marion Meixsell of Bangor, PA. He was proceeded in death by his sister Dorothy Werner of Tatamy, PA.
Paul was an avid outdoorsmen and devoted Penn State Football Fan. He was an involved member of the Nazareth Moravian Church. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 1, at 12 noon at Nazareth Moravian Church, 4 South Main St., Nazareth, PA 18064.
