Obituary of Robert Anthony Uzupes
Robert Anthony Uzupes, age 79, of Hawley died Monday, October 1, 2018 at home. As a child he lived in Bronx, NY, but vacationed with his family at Lake Wallenpaupack.
Mr. Uzupes was born August 21, 1939 in Wilkes Barre, PA and was the son of the late Anthony Vincent and Margaret (Smith) Uzupes.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a truck driver.
Bob enjoyed camping, going to the races, tinkering and fixing things, and going to antique auctions. He had a special talent for restoring antiques, especially oil lamps.
He had formerly been a member of Lakeville Volunteer Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years: Barbara Ann Therese (McConnell) Uzupes, four daughters: Vanessa Uzupes and husband Mark Owens, Lisa Slish and husband Michael, Cheryl Podhany and her fiance' Jerry Reyes and Carin Podhany and her fiance', August Opalek, and one son: Vinson Uzupes; one brother: Edward Uzupes and his wife Lucia (Penny)
Grandchildren, Emma Uzupes Owens and Nathan Owens,Taylor, Ava and Faith Slish; Kaitlyn Roman, Matthew, Evan and Jacob Reyes, Gianna and Nicholas Opalek; nieces, Michelle Uzupes and Kristine Carroll and her husband A.J.; great nieces: Chayni and Rhayni Uzupes.
Calling hours will be Saturday, October 6th from 11 AM to 1 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA, followed by a memorial service at 1PM.
Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.
