Obituary of Donald Bernard Petti

Donald Bernard Petti, age 80, of Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, Lake Ariel died Friday, October 12, 2018, at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Joan P. (Behan) Petti, in 2013.

Born July 6, 1938, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Bernard and Kathleen (McNamara) Petti. Prior to his retirement in 2001, he was the superintendent of an apartment building In Manhattan.

A baseball fanatic, he was a pitcher for the Pocono Mountain Adult Baseball League, an over-50 baseball league, from 2003 and continued to play until he was 76. He was well-known for his sense of humor and his colorful stories told with colorful language.

He is survived by two daughters: Kathleen Petti and her husband Salvatore Gattuso of Lake Ariel and Jennifer Petti of Scranton; one sister: Bernadette Judith Biviano of Bayshore, NY; three beloved grandchildren: Matthew, Danielle and Jessica; and his treasured great grandson: Damian Alexander Jones.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 19, at 10:00 AM, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Ledgedale.  Private cremation will be held following the Mass at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
