Obituary of Patricia Marie Porcano
Our beloved Patricia Marie Porcano died on Monday, October 15, 2018. Patty was born on November 18, 1990 in Poughkeepsie, New York. She grew up and lived on and off in NY and PA throughout her life.
Patty was an incredibly brilliant woman, with an incredible mind, she had so much potential, she was really feisty and loved to debate. She enjoyed going places and be around people.
Throughout her early years Patty visited abroad to Norway, Thailand, Mexico, Philippines and Peru at several points in her life with her family. She loved writing, (oh the stories she would come up with), she played piano, it was always such a delight to come to her recitals, she loved the beach, reading, listen to music and she played Field Hockey in high school.
It is impossible to capture a person in an obituary. To some, Patty was just a strong willed, hyper girl with a hot head. Patty was hilarious, and warm, and fearless, and resilient. She could and would talk to anyone, and when you were in her company you wanted to stay.
Patty is survived by her son, Blake 4 y.o, Sophia 4 months old; her parents Marie and Len Porcano; her brother Jonathan, her grandmother Barbara Porcano, her grandfather Daniel Herrera; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is predeceased by her beloved great-grandmother, Helen Compton (Grammy) and her beloved grandmother Dora Herrera (MamaDora).
Please join us for a memorial service honoring Patty's life on Saturday, October 27, at 1 p.m., at the Teeters' Funeral Chapel at 505 Church St. Hawley PA 18428. Phone # (570) 226-3112
She'll be buried close to her “grammy” Patty's beloved great-grandmother. She had a heart for and loved animals, she wanted to adopt every animal she saw and we would end up with all of them.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Camp Papillon Rescue and Animal Shelter in Stroudsburg, PA. Donations can be made via their website, https://www.camppapillon.org/
We take comfort in knowing that Patty is surrounded by light, free from the struggle that haunted her. We would have given anything for her to experience that freedom in this lifetime. Our grief over losing her is infinite. And now so is she. May your soul rest in peace my beautiful daughter!
Burial will be in Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley.
