Obituary of Theodore W Edgar

Theodore W Edgar, age 83, formerly of Woodloch Springs, Hawley and Succasunna, NJ, died Monday, October 29, 2018 at Homewood At Martinsburg in Martinsburg.

Mr. Edgar was born October 20, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Crandell and Marion (Dill) Edgar. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Mulhern) Edgar in 2004 and a grandson, Sean Van Houten.

He served in the Navy during Korean Conflict. Ted earned his Bachelor's Degree from Pace University and his Master's Degree from Rutgers University. He retired as an accounting professor from County College Of Morris, NJ in 1998. He said was his greatest passion in life was being an accounting professor.

Mr. Edgar was a former member of BVM Queen of Peace Church and former board member and treasurer of Wayne Memorial Health Systems. He enjoyed golfing and bowling.

He is survived by two daughters: Dorothy Van Houten of Huntingdon, PA and Mary Ann Sowers of Mapleton Depot, PA, and one son: Theodore Edgar of North Wales, PA; six grandchildren, Bethany, Katelyn, Christopher, Megan, Theodore, Thomas and one great grandson, Aiden.

Calling hours will be Friday, November 2nd from 4 PM to 7 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 3rd at 10 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor.

Burial will be in Green Gates Cemetery in Hawley.
