Obituary of John Robert Redmond

John Robert Redmond, of Bohemia, Pike County, formerly of Woodhaven, NY died Saturday, February 16, 2019 with his loving family, wife, Irene and his sons, Bobby, Kevin and David in attendance. Mr. Redmond was born November 6, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY; the son of the late Charles and Anna (Cimbach) Redmond. John was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Air Force as a flight engineer during the Korean Conflict. Upon return from the service, he worked for Chase Manhattan Bank for 30 years, managing a computer site, before retiring. He came to PA in 1988; worked for Woodloch Pines & Woodloch Springs for 20 years before retiring permanently. He loved working with wood, fishing, the football Giants, gardening to raise vegetables & flowers for his home and planting flowers at his church. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hawley for many years before transferring to Bethel Lutheran Church in Bohemia. He leaves behind a devoted family including his beloved wife, the former Irene I. Pantjopoulos; they celebrated 59 years of marriage. Three sons, Robert J.; husband of Kelly (Forte) of Middle Village, NY; Kevin M., Jen, & Ben of Tarrytown, NY; and David C., husband of Anna Marie (Sorrentino) of East Rockaway, NY; a brother, Richard T. Redmond of Glendale, NY, nine grandchildren, Daniel, Michelle and her partner Evan McCartney, Brian, Caitlin, Charles, Evan, Johnny Red, Bella, Mia; one great granddaughter, Cassandra, several nieces, nephews and their families. May he rest in peace knowing how very much he was loved, but most of all he was a great DAD! A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 2nd at 11 am at Bethel Lutheran Church, Church Road, Rowland with Rev. Norman R. Beighley, Pastor, officiating.
