Obituary of Jonathan Andrew McDermott

Jonathan Andrew McDermott, age 15, of Hawley died Wednesday, October 23, 2019, he was the son of Peter Paul and Kelly Ann (Horaz) McDermott. 

A sophomore at Wallenpaupack Area High School, Jonathan was a member of the chorus, show choir, drama club, the tennis team and volunteered as the cameraman for the football team.

In addition to his parents he is survived by two brothers: Kyle C. McDermott in the Air Force and Peter P McDermott II of Hawley; paternal grandmother:  Ruth E. McDermott of Eunice, LA; maternal grandmother:  Teresa C. Horaz of Wallkill, NY; maternal grandfather:  Thomas M. Horaz and his wife Barbara of Washingtonville, NY; aunts and uncles:  JoAnn and Robert LaNeve of Kinnelon, NJ, Lynda and Bob Vail of Punta Gorda, FL, Michelle C. and Bryan Jones of Kingston, NY, Heather M. and John DeClemente of Burgaw, NC, Shannon N. and Dare Comitto of Poughkeepsie, NY,  Michael J. McDermott of Huntsville, AL and Michael T. Horaz of Brooklyn, NY; his godfather:  Thaddeus E. Bonczek, of Wallkill, NY; and many cousins and other relatives.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 30th from 2 to 7 PM at Hawley United Methodist Church, 315 Church St, Hawley, PA, followed by the funeral service at 7 PM.

Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.
