Obituary of Leah M. Davis

Leah M. Davis, age 81, of Honesdale and formerly of Lititz, Lancaster County, and Greeley, PA, as well as Florida, died Saturday, August 9, 2014, at home. Mrs. Davis was born May 7, 1933, in Palmerton, PA, and was the daughter of the late Albert and Alverta (Marsh) Heffelfinger. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Davis, Jr., in 2011. Leah was a member of United Church of Christ in Lititz and attended Tabernacle Bible Church in Honesdale. She loved being involved in all her grandchildren's activities and enjoyed traveling and going to the beach and had a winter home on the west coast of Florida. She was a secretary for Lititz Mutual Insurance Co. and worked with her husband, Robert, at RJ's Tavern in Greeley for 20 years. She is survived by two daughters: Gwen Story and her husband, Don, of Lititz, PA, and Carol Kuhn of Honesdale, PA; one son: Bruce Davis and his wife, Ivy, of Columbia, PA; six grandchildren: Braden, Paul, Elizabeth, Jessica, Berk and Brooke; three great grandchidren: Leah, Milo and Asher; and one brother: Neal Heffelfinger of Madison, AL. Calling hours will be Thursday, August 14th, from 5 to 7 PM and Friday, August 15th, from 12:30 to 2 pm at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Friday, August 15th, at 2 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley with Honesdale Tabernacle Church member, Nicholas Barna, officiating. Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel and inurnment will be at Towamensing Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Traditional Hospice, 113 West Drinker St, Dunmore, PA 18512
