One of my youngest memories of Coulby was when I was about 6 years old and I came home after playing with my best girlfriend in the neighborhood and found Coulby who was about 13 at the time hanging out on the front stoop with a pile of bricks playing king of the stoop and ruler of Dunn land. As I ran up to go in the house I was met with a barrage of bricks flying through the air. I was not sure if he was out of his mind mad or if he thought it was great fun scaring the bejeebaz out of me, but I was in no mood for a head injury so I just turned around and went back to Mary Jane’s. If I got in trouble for not being home on time I figured I now had a good excuse.

Coulb had a little devil in him but underneath all the kidding and cajoling he was a very kind and conscientious man who cared deeply for his family. I have no doubt the man is brandishing the light up there in heaven with his mom and dad, his brothers Michael and Den, and his nephew Billy shootin’ the breeze, laughing uproariously, basking in eternal bliss. I will remember him with fondness and gratitude. I was fortunate to have him as my brother and I know his passing is but a transition of euphoric proportion as he now embraces a beautiful new world that we hopefully shall one day have the grace to share.

Dear Lynda, Coulby, Matthew & Laura: Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. I was so fortunate to call Coulby my friend. I have a treasure of memories. As you know, he built my PA home. It is the place where I am most peaceful. For that, I will be forever grateful. I will always remember our visits to Yankee Stadium! Coulby insisted on getting there when the gates opened so he could sit in the right field stands and watch the batting practice "home runs" coming sailing his way! Enjoy your well deserved reward, Coulby! A little heavenly intercession for our Yankees and Giants would be nice!! Myles

In our many years of working together on community projects we formed a deep and long lasting friendship. The best part was we challenged each other to do better and be better with support, encouragement and inspiration. I will never say goodbye, because saying goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting and I will never forget the profound impact Coulby had on my life. He made me a better person than I would have been. Thank you Coulby, God keep you close. My deepest thoughts and healing prayers are with your family for their profound loss.

I loved babysitting his kids in their beautiful home. They were always so very well behaved and when I was done for the night he would always bring me home so I didn't have to ride my bike down Brink Hill in the middle of the night. He was a true hero in my eyes. Coulby, you will be missed. R.I.P.
To his wife, Lynda and his kids, grand kids and the rest of the family, my thoughts, prayers, and my sincere condolences.

I'm an old friend of Coulby's going back to our school days in Syosset. He was always an energetic fun guy to be around! Our paths crossed many years later as I moved and settled in NEPA. He called me one day and said, " Johnny, have you been to the new Yankee Stadium? Come with me I've got some tickets!" Needless to say, we had a blast!! Coulby was a total giver! I love him and he'll be sorely missed. He's now I the arms of Jesus and I look forward to seeing him again in Glory!!
