Obituary of Alice Ann Gumble

Alice Ann "Allie" Gumble, age 61, of Paupack died Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at home. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Owen Joseph Gumble. Born April 9, 1958, in Scranton, she was preceded in death by her father, Donald A. Sharpe, her mother, Marion (Meisinger) Sharpe, and the mother who raised her, Alice Ann Sharpe. She was a graduate of Western Wayne High School, Class of 1976. Allie worked as a cook for Wallenpaupack Area School District, as well as Camp Watonka for many years. She was a member of Paupack United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star and had been a member of the Wallenpaupack Area Football Boosters. Allie also loved to garden and go camping. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: Timothy Gumble and his wife Kimberly of Beach Lake and Daniel Gumble and his wife Sara of Greentown; three grandchildren: Dean, Keilee and Tanner; two sisters: Mary K. Hunter of Florida and Michele J. Morgan of Mt. Cobb; and a brother: Donald A. Sharpe, Jr. of Candensis. Allie was predeceased by four sisters: Donna R. Sharpe, Marion J. Cleek, Margaret A. Hannon and Dawn M. Tucker. Calling hours will be Thursday, February 27, from 6 to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Friday, February 28, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Paupack. Memorials may be made to Tafton Fire & Rescue, PO Box 5, Tafton, PA 18464.
