Maria (Kraker) Onuszkanycz, age 87, of Hawley passed away Friday, February 28, 2020, at Briarwood Manor, Newfoundland. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dmytro Onuszkanycz. Born October 17, 1932, in Gottschee, Austria, she was the daughter of the late Alois and Helen (Hoelger) Kraker. Prior to their retirement, she and her husband operated a Christmas tree farm in Sullivan County, New York. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Margit Miraglia and her husband Joseph of Queens, NY, and Lydia Waligovska and her husband Richard of Punta Gorda Island, FL; one brother: Gerhard Kraker of James Island, SC; five grandsons and two granddaughters-in-law; and myriad cousins. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 5, from 2 to 6 PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 6, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen, 416 Church St, Honesdale, with Father Christopher Sahd officiating. Burial will follow in Indian Orchard Cemetery, Honesdale. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association NEPA Regional, 57 N.
