William W Hamby, Sr., age 65, of Hawley died Monday, March 9, 2020 at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton.
Mr. Hamby was born September 2, 1954 in Honesdale, PA and was the son of the late Earl and Pearl (Bowen) Hamby.
Bill served in the Army and was a police officer for Hawley Borough.
He was Palmyra Township supervisor, Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader and a member of Hawley Fire Dept and Central Vol. Fire Dept.
He is survived by two sons: William Hamby II of Mount Joy, PA, Thomas Hamby of Hawley, two daughters, Carey Hamby of Hawley, PA and Jodi Hamby of Mansfield, PA, two grandchildren, Graci & Gavin Hamby, his wife, Dorothy (Boyle) Hamby, one brother, Milo Hamby of Honesdale, PA and his loving companion, Carol Mosher of Lakeville, PA.
Calling hours will be Friday, March 13th from 10 to 11 am at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA, followed by a memorial service at 11 am with Rev. Norman Beighley, officiating.
