Obituary of Francis Lawlor

Francis Lawlor, age 81, of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley died Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Regional Hospital of Scranton, Scranton. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Gloria Selina (Johnson) Lawlor, in 2014. Born July 19, 1938, in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of the late Francis and Mary (Sheehan) Lawlor. After serving in the US Navy, worked as an elevator mechanic and lived in many towns in New York and New Jersey. While living on Long Island, he was First Lieutenant of the Levittown Fire Department, Engine Co. 2. Following his retirement, he and his wife settled in Myrtle Beach, SC. Following the passing of his wife, he moved to Fawn Lake Forest in 2015. Mr. Lawlor then became a member of Central Volunteer Fire Department and was active with the Fire Police still at age 81. He is survived by one son: Rev. Kevin Lawlor and his wife Noel with whom he resided; four grandchildren: MacKenzie Lawlor, Matthew and Christopher MacDonald and Robert VanHook; and his precious puppies: Suzie and Buddy. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. A memorial service will be held at a future date and time to be announced.
