Harold E. Vogler, a lifelong resident of Hawley, passed away during the night on Friday, July 10, 2020 after a long illness. He was born May 23, 1932 to the late Edward G. and Martha (Schwarting) Vogler in Honesdale. He graduated from Hawley High School in 1950 and from Susquehanna University with a BS degree in 1954. A self-employed merchant, he owned E. Vogler and Son, a feed, lawn and pet supply business at 305 Penn Avenue, Hawley.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Melva S. Vogler, a retired teacher at Wallenpaupack Area High School. He is also survived by a son Robert, a teacher at Wallenpaupack Area North Intermediate School; and a daughter, Carol , an auditor with the Defense Department in northern Virginia; as well as by two grandchildren, Caleb Vogler and his wife Michelle and Abbey Vogler and her friend Chris Faux; and a sister, Miriam Olson of West Grove, PA and three nephews.
He will be cremated at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel and a private service for the immediate family will be scheduled at a future time.
