Lee Christian Holbert, age 49, a lifelong resident of the area, died Friday, August 14, 2020. Mr. Holbert was born October 17, 1970 in Honesdale, PA the son of Evelyn V (Engvaldsen) Strasser and the late Robert L Holbert. Lee spent time in the Merchant Marines. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and golf and was an accomplished carpenter. He was extremely proud of his son, Ty. He is survived by one son: Ty Christian Holbert of Greeley, PA; his mother & stepfather, Evelyn & James (Strapper) Strasser of Lakeville, PA; three brothers: Matthew R Holbert of Greentown, PA, Corey Holbert of Lackawaxen, PA and Christopher Holbert of Hemlock Farms, Hawley, PA, step mother, Carol Holbert of Hawley, PA. Calling hours will be Thursday, August 20th from 10 AM to 2:00 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. Due to Covid-19 concerns, masks and social distancing will be strictly enforced. Maximum capacity at Teeters' is 25 people, as per the Governor's guidelines. At 2 PM a procession will travel to Lackawaxen, Plank Road followed by the service at 2:30 PM at the Holbert Cemetery in Lackawaxen, PA. Burial will be in Holbert Cemetery, Plank Road in Lackawaxen. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with Ty's college expenses.
