Rita Antonina Rosenberger of Hawley, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020 at home surrounded by family after a long illness. Born December 6th, 1952 in Amberg, Germany, Rita was the daughter of Polish refugees, and later adopted by the late William and Eleanora Denzer along with her sister and two brothers. A talented woman, Rita enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. She also excelled at playing the piano and organ. Rita worked for the Hawley Department Store as a seamstress, performed and made costumes for the plays at the Ritz Theater in Hawley and played the organ for BVM Queen of Peace Church in Hawley. With the birth of her children, she became a stay at home mom, but later returned to music, as the music director for Lakeville United Methodist Church for 22 years until her retirement. She was predeceased by her sister, Maria Denzer, her brother Paul Denzer and her adopted brother William Denzer. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ralph D. Rosenberger; her daughters: Antonia and Amanda Lyn of Hawley, Alicia (Shawn) Armstrong of Pleasant Mt.; sons: Ralph (Jennifer) of White Mills, Randall and Ryan of Hawley, and Russell of Lake Ariel; two grandchildren: Aneya and Genevieve Rosenberger; and a brother: Stephen (Judy) Denzer of Jappa, MD. The Rosenberger family would like to thank Traditional Hospice for their excellent care of Rita to whom the family is thankful to the nurses and aides that came by daily. The family would especially like to thank Mary Carol and Melissa for their extraordinary emotional support, care and professionalism. A Memorial Service will be held at Lakeville United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 11 AM. Memorial donations in Rita's memory may be made to Lakeville United Methodist Women (Lakeville UMW), 431 Purdytown Turnpike, Lakeville, PA 18438.
