Lois F. Travis, age 90, a resident of Forest City Personal Care Home, Forest City died peacefully with her children by her side on Friday, September 25, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ira M. Travis, in 2014. Born November 15, 1929, in Cherry Ridge, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Washington and Geraldine Frances (Mittan) Klein. She grew up in Drinker in Lackawanna County and was a graduate of Jefferson Twp. High School. She and her husband Ira lived in Lords Valley for 60 years. Lois was a member of First Baptist Church of Hawley. She is survived by three daughters: Sharon Cunningham of Tyler Hill, Sandra Smith and her husband Alex of Bethany, and Linda Penwarden and her husband William of Honesdale; one son: Darrell Travis and his companion Fay Shanahan of Kingston; one sister: Anna Jean Genovese of Dunmore; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Klein Clemo and brothers, Russell Klein and Theodore Klein. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Sept. 29, from Noon to 1PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Baker of First Baptist Church of Hawley officiating. Burial will be in Lords Valley Cemetery, Lords Valley, following the funeral. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Hawley, 711 Church St, Hawley, PA 18428.
