Obituary of Noreen B. Morin

Noreen B. Morin, age 70, of Hawley died Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at home with family at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Raymond Morin, on Dec. 17, 2020 and daughter Constance Grace Morin Sept. 17, 1985. Born April 16, 1950, in Sidney, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Gladys (Filer) Barber. A Hawley resident for almost 40 years, she had formerly resided in Lackawaxen. She was an elementary schoolteacher for Wallenpaupack Area School District and taught in the two-room schoolhouse in Lackawaxen. Noreen retired from teaching to be a full-time mother, and later returned to work at Highlights for Children and most recently CPT in Hawley. Noreen was a former member of Cole Memorial Baptist Church in Hawley, where she led the church choir and organized the youth group, known as the "Fruit Bearers". Most recently, Noreen was a member of Calkins Baptist Church. She trusted in God with all her heart to lead and to guide her. Noreen's greatest joy was being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren while joining in with their laughter. Her love will forever be in their hearts. Noreen will also be remembered by many as a best friend. She rejoiced in the happiness and achievements of others, and offered words of wisdom and hope in times of doubt. Noreen had a great love and appreciation for nature. She loved bird watching, hiking, kayaking, and camping. She is survived by two daughters: Suzanne Morin of Glendale , AZ and Jennifer Brown of Hawley with husband Sean Brown; one sister: Lorraine Winans of Binghamton, NY; one brother: Bruce Barber and his wife Betsy of Norwich, NY; and her two beloved grandchildren: Owen and Tully Brown. Noreen also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews. A Graveside Memorial for Noreen and Raymond will be held at Green Gates Cemetery in Hawley a future date to be determined.
