Obituary of Diana Mary Seeman
Please share a memory of Diana to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 31, 2021, DIANA SEEMAN, LOVING WIFE AND MOTHER, PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 80.
DIANA WAS BORN ON OCTOBER 29, 1940 IN THE BRONX, NEW YORK. SHE IS PREDECEASED BY HER PARENTS, DANTE AND DOROTHY CHIAPPELLONI (NEE THOMPSON), HER SISTER EILEEN AND HER BROTHER ANTHONY. SHE IS ALSO PREDECEASED BY HER BELOVED SON JAMES.
DIANA MARRIED JOSEPH SEEMAN, ON JANUARY 31, 1959. THEY MOVED THE FAMILY TO CRANFORD, NEW JERSEY IN FEBRUARY OF 1967, WHERE THEY RESIDED UNTIL DIANA'S RETIREMENT IN 2006, AT WHICH TIME THEY MOVED TO THEIR SECOND HOME IN FAWN LAKE FOREST, HAWLEY, PA.
DIANA WAS A DEDICATED REGISTERED NURSE. SHE WORKED FOR MANY YEARS AS AN INTENSIVE CARE NURSE AT WHAT WAS THEN KNOWN AS UNION HOSPITAL. IN ORDER TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH HER FAMILY, SHE THEN BECAME A VISITING NURSE, EVENTUALLY BECOMING A SUPERVISOR FOR THE VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION OF NEW JERSEY. NURSING REMAINED A PASSION FOR DIANA EVEN AFTER HER RETIREMENT.
DIANA'S OTHER PASSION IN LIFE WAS HER LOVE OF ANIMALS, ESPECIALLY HER BELOVED BASSET HOUNDS. SHE IS PREDECEASED BY TOO MANY OF HER FOUR-LEGGED FAMILY MEMBERS TO LIST BY NAME BUT WE ARE SURE SHE'LL BE MEETING THEM ALL AT THAT RAINBOW BRIDGE IN HEAVEN.
DIANA WAS KIND, GENEROUS AND SMART AS A WHIP. SHE WAS ALSO FEISTY, ORNERY AND STUBBORN AS A MULE, ALTHOUGH WE ARE SURE SHE CONSIDERED THOSE TRAITS AS ASSETS.
DIANA IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND OF 62 YEARS, JOSEPH, HER SISTER-IN-LAW ROSEMARY, HER TWO DAUGHTERS, NINA (HENRY) AND DOROTHY (DOUG), HER SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN, JAMES (REBECCA), DANIEL (LAUREL), NICHOLAS, MARYROSE (EDWIN), STELLA, GRACE, AND ANNA. SHE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY HER 6 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, CRISTIAN, ISABELLA, MASON, LILLY, LYLA AND OLIVIA. SHE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY MANY EXTENDED FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS WHO SHE LOVED AND WHO LOVED AND ADORED HER.
DUE TO THE COVID VIRUS, A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR DIANA WILL BE HELD WHEN THE COVID RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, PLEASE MAKE A DONATION IN HER NAME TO DESSIN ANIMAL SHELTER IN HONESDALE, PA OR A CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE.
