Melody Ann Conklin passed away in her home after a long illness surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 14, 2021, just shortly after her 76th birthday. Mrs. Conklin was a long-time resident of Hawley, PA. She was the daughter of the late Daniel R. and Lillian DeGroat and her stepmother, RoseMary DeGroat. Melody loved children and spent most of her life providing care for her children and grandchildren. She was also a devoted Christian and a loving example to everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 57 years: Alfred L Conklin, Jr.; four daughters: Becky and husband Joe Klepadlo, Beth and husband Frank Spinelli, Debi and husband Tim Bishop, and Kim and husband Tom Murray. Melody also had eight grandchildren: Frank Spinelli, Joshua Ryan, Aaron Eisenhauer, Candace Ryan Brack, Gina Spinelli Erway, Hunter Murray, McKenzie Murray and Dakota Murray; and a grandson, Cory Ryan, who predeceased her; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday, March 19th, from 10 to 11 am at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral service will be private with Chaplin Paul Leonard officiating. Burial will be in Canaan Corners Cemetery in Waymart. Memorials may be made to Traditional Hospice, 113 West Drinker Street Dunmore, PA 18512.
